This is "Karatopus".   My karate chopping, Kung Fu master, side kicking cephalopod!  I came across a photo of the cutest little octopus who looked to me like he was mastering his best karate moves.  He was just missing a few things....so I added a high side kick, the white gi, defensive arms and the black, red, and white color scheme to fit the vibe of a dojo.....voila, Karatopus was created.

This is my son Reed's favorite Octopus design of mine which is perfect because he was part of the inspiration for this one.  We put him in Karate when he was a kid.  He became obsessed with Bruce Lee.  He owned every one of his movies and had posters of Bruce plastered across his walls.  So this design is a tribute to my son and the late and amazing Bruce Lee.

3 HIDDEN HEARTS....

Did you know that Octopuses have three hearts?  Yep, its true!  Its one of my favorite things about them.  As in all of my octopus paintings, I've hidden 3 hearts in each design.  Can you find them?

2 HIDDEN LADYBUGS....

Each of my original artworks have two hidden ladybugs (which represent my kids) hand painted somewhere on the side of the canvas.

  • CANVAS PRINTS.....

These fine art stretched Giclee canvas prints are an archival, museum quality reproduction that rivals the original when held side by side.  Using the latest technology and the best archival ink and canvases available on the market.   I searched far and wide to find the best of the best. These prints are hand stretched, framed and made with pride in San Diego, CA.

Only materials of the highest quality have been used to insure its long term beauty and to protect your investment.

    FRAMED CANVAS OPTION...

We offer the option for you to add a frame to your canvas print for a very affordable price.  They come with a paper backing and wire, ready to hang.  I chose floater frames because they give the illusion that the art is floating inside the picture frame therefore the entire front of the painting is exposed.  What I love about our frames is that there is no overlap covering the front of the image like a traditional frame will do.
